Hello! My name is Josie Styles, and I’m so excited to be part of the Barkley Bridge family as a third-grade Language Arts and Reading teacher. Before joining Barkley Bridge, I taught second grade at F.E. Burleson Elementary. It’s truly an honor to be a part of Hartselle City Schools.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Athens State University in May 2018. In June 2021, I completed my Master’s in Elementary Education, and in December 2022, I received a Post-Master’s Certificate in Instructional Leadership—both from the University of West Alabama.

My husband Dan and I have been married for 24 years. He teaches Health and serves as the Defensive Coordinator for the Varsity football team at Decatur High School. We have three wonderful sons—Drew, Garrett, and Will—and in September 2021, we were thrilled to welcome our first granddaughter, Reagan!

Outside the classroom, I love spending time with my growing family, cooking, fishing, decorating, and traveling—especially to the beach or the mountains.
